There’s Something Exciting ‘On Tap’ this November!Grand View Lodge is excited to announce its 4th annual Grand Brewfest to all you beer lovers and local craft beer aficionados. This two-day salute to Minnesota craft beer will take place November 22-24 where Minnesota breweries will present their favorite brews to craft beer enthusiasts.

Sponsoring breweries include: Grain Belt, Brau Brothers Brewing Co., Brainerd Lakes Beer, Schell’s Brewing Co., Leech Lake Brewing Co., Summit Brewing Co., Jack Pine Brewery, Lift Bridge Brewery, Bent Paddle Brewing Co., Third Street Brewhouse, Surly Brewing and Lucid Brewing, so far.

“When we first began in 2009, we had only 4 breweries and about 75 participants, but just this last year, we grew to 10 Breweries and over 300 participants,” said Jim Benson, Director of Operations. “We’re excited for the 2013 lineup, as we have 13 Breweries and hopefully more to come.”

New this year is the 1st Annual Home Brewers Contest. The contest is open to all styles of beer and an expert panel of judges will conduct a tasting of each entry and award the Best Home Brewer of the 2013 Grand Brewfest.

There’s Something Exciting ‘On Tap’ this November!The winner of the contest will work with Horace Cunningham, Brewmaster at Third Street Brewhouse in Cold Spring, Minnesota. Not only will they get to produce a keg of their beer at Third Street Brewhouse, but later in the year, the winner will bring their keg to Grand View Lodge to be tapped in their Northwoods Pub with a few of their closest friends.

This eventful weekend includes deluxe lodging, breakfast daily, Brewfest mug, Vendor Fair, Paired Beer & Food Dinner, and Saturday night’s Live Entertainment starting at $175 per person.

Friday night kicks off the Brewfest celebration with its Minnesota Beer Night in the Northwoods Pub featuring tap beer specials, live entertainment and beer history trivia.

Saturday’s afternoon vendor fair includes beer samplings from all sponsoring and participating beer vendors, seminars and culinary demos, food booths, and a chili bar. Proceeds from the event will go to support the local Kinship Partners, a community-based, one-to-one youth mentoring program.

The Paired Beer & Food Dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will be an exciting tasting opportunity to experience several beers and plates, infused with various flavors that are paired to perfection. The Brewery of the Year, Best Food Vendor Booth and Home Brew Winners will be announced as well.
